LEARN MORE ABOUT ALLIE L.
Allie came to yoga following her retirement from Division I college athletics. She decided to become more consistent with yoga as a practice when she graduated college and needed to find something that would heal her relationship with movement following her volleyball career. Yoga was what she continually came back to in that healing process. Her sister is also a yoga teacher and a certified Athletic Trainer so she was, and is, constantly learning about the benefits of yoga as both injury prevention and also a mental health practice. Having dealt with her own injuries due to college sports, Allie understands how yoga can be healing both mentally and physically.
Allie now works in a research lab at UNC and additionally uses yoga as a tool to prevent both mental burnout and to counter the constant sitting/slouching required of her at the lab.
She is excited to introduce beginners to yoga to help them start on their journey and aid in the progression of more advanced practices. You can expect to find a balance between strength practices, injury prevention movements, and stretching in her classes, having done all of these things in her past as an athlete to recover and build strength.
