LEARN MORE ABOUT LIZ
Liz began her yoga journey at Franklin Street Yoga during her first year as a 3rd grade teacher in 2013. She needed something in her life to help her decompress from the rewarding yet challenging work of educating children. After that first class, she noticed a drastic shift in her lifestyle off of the mat. The breathe work, movement, and philosophy aspects of yoga inspired Liz to feel more grounded in her day-to-day life. Liz found a needed community at Franklin Street Yoga and after years of taking classes and working behind the desk, she completed Lori’s 200 hour teacher training in 2019. She has been teaching at FSYC ever since. After ten years as classroom teacher, Liz transitioned to a district role in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools as an Equity Specialist in 2022, where she is able to apply her passion for both teaching and equitable practices to work with teachers and students in our community. Liz’s classes are fast paced, fluid, and fun! She empowers students to listen to their bodies— you are your own best teacher. She takes great pride in the curation of music playlists that fit the movement flows within her vinyasa sequences. Liz’s wish for anyone attending her classes is that they leave feeling joyful and refreshed. She hopes that she can cultivate that feeling of “home” that FSCY has always provided her.
