"The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated." ~Mohandas Gandhi
Seva in Sanskrit means "community service" and is a core tenet of yoga and part of Franklin Street Yoga Center's mission to support and contribute to our community in a positive way. In the spirit of selfless service, we are committed to helping rescue lost, abused, and seized animals, and to educating the public about their plight. We support the spaying and neutering of companion animals and a TNR (trap, neuter, return) policy for feral cats and dogs that can no longer be tamed.
While it may seem a far cry from the practice of yoga to officially respond to this need, we feel that the protection we can provide to the most innocent and humble among us is just one of the many powerful ways we can bring the balance and grace of yoga into all we do.
Any individual who rescues an animal from an agency may obtain a gift certificate for 2-months of unlimited classes at Franklin Street Yoga Center.

I recommend the experience to any college or pro athlete who is trying to become a more well-rounded player.”
