Teacher and Owner
E-R.Y.T. I took my first yoga class in Bryn Mawr, PA in 1997 and my teacher was
Baron Baptiste. I have always believed that there are no coincidences in
life. I was one of those 7 day a week high impact aerobic junkies. Baron
had leased a space across the hall from where I worked out. I took one
power yoga class with him and I immediately knew this dynamic style of
yoga was home for me. I had no need ever again for a bone jarring cardio
workout or weightlifting - yoga became my all encompassing workout - mentally
and physically.

I truly believe that Baptiste
Power Vinyasa Yoga is an amazing gift that I can share with the Chapel
Hill/Carrboro community by opening Franklin Street Yoga Center. ~

As time has passed, my yoga practice has not only changed my physical
self, but it has brought me calmness and peace I have never known. Under
the guidance of my teachers Baron Baptiste and Master Baptiste teacher
Bill Raup, I have been given the strength to change my life on and off
the mat. My practice has provided me with tools I use every moment of every
day.
While living in Philadelphia, I was diagnosed with Graves Disease and
during this challenging time I realized that through a dedicated yoga
practice, creating a healthy lifestyle, and a commitment to a personal
revolution, I would discover a path to heal. I was so inspired by my
practice that I enrolled in teacher training at Power Yoga Works,
an affiliate Baptiste studio where I had been practicing since 2002.
I have trained extensively with Baron Baptiste and have completed his
level 1 teacher training in 2006 and his current highest level of teacher
training in June, 2007. In 2005, I completed a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification
in Power Vinyasa Yoga. I have taken workshops with Sean Corne, Paul Grilley,
Sarah Powers, Stephanie Keach, Beryl Bender Birch and Shiva Rea.
My teaching style adapts yoga to the ever changing needs of the individual
thereby motivating students to find what’s right for them by looking
within. I teach an inspirational and athletically charged class and offer
variations that will help every student feel their best. My classes are
motivational, enthusiastic, and empowering.
I graduated from UNC in 1988 and lived in the Philadelphia area until
2005 when my husband and I decided to move home to NC to be closer to our
families. Our lives have been deeply enriched by our 6 dogs and 3 cats.
